It’s always like that with winter lambs..
Tiny and weak –
sleepy and sweet..
Won’t last the season.
Start fighting, my lad
Bawl for your milk
Cry to be heard..
You have a lot to say
And we are listening.
Your mother there..
She needs to wake up and feed you
keep you from harm..
A strong shepherd you will make
one day.
