W is for Witch

W IS FOR WITCH

When it’s very very dark

And the wind is howling loud

And a star’s caught in the tree

And there’s no-one here but me

That’s when

I see the witch!

When you look straight at the moon

And it’s very white and full

And a figure sails right past it

With a tall hat and a broom

And your thumbnails start to itch

That’s the witch!

I don’t know who she is

And I don’t know what she does

But I don’t think that I like her

Or I want to know her better –

I would rather just go home

And climb up to my room

And hide underneath my duvet

With a Twix.

Aroint thee, witch!
